PSE’s (Public Sex Environments) Outreach
The majority of ROAM’s work is carried out in public sex environments (PSEs) in Edinburgh: public toilets, parks, graveyards etc. During these sessions we make direct contact with cruising men and male sex workers and offer advice, distribute information and provide safer sex supplies.
We currently run two evening sessions and one afternoon session of outreach in PSEs. There are always two ROAM members of the team present on each session, and the evening shifts vary in times but typically we have a midnight shift and the other finishing at 9pm.
The Outreach bus which was received in early 2007 allowed us to expand the services offered in the PSEs by providing a safer and calmer environment for clients to pop in and talk about any issues regarding cruising/testing etc. they may have.
We are also able to offer on the Bus:
- Free Condoms and Lube
- Information leaflets
- A cuppa tea!
